School of Larks

Covid-19 Policy

Back to school student safety guidelines for covid-19 prevention
7th September - 25th October 2020

These are the measures that we will be taking for optimum safety against covid-19:
- Soap and water for washing hands
- Minimum of 70% Alcohol based hand sanitiser
- Hypochlorous Acid  (this is a completely non toxic but highly effective disinfectant with a 99.999% disinfectant rate. We have chosen to use this to disinfect our equipment and spaces because it is effective, environmentally friendly and non toxic. It consists of water and salt which is converted through electrolysis into hypochlorous acid.
- Face masks
- Social distancing

Masks will not be worn by teachers for any classes with students under the age of 12. If any student would like to wear a mask for any reason - they are most welcome to. Masks will be worn for classes with students over the age of 12.

a) Students must wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds on entering and before leaving the venue.
b) Students age 12 and over must follow social distancing rules with other students and teachers during classes.
c) Students must use  the hand sanitiser or hypochlorous acid spray (provided) immediately before and after using any of the equipment on hands and feet.
d) All students need to bring their own exercise/pilates/yoga mat for warm ups and cool downs. These can be purchased new from School of Larks (Sky Blue Warrior 4mm yoga mat £19)
e) Aerial and handstand students will be in a buddy system with one other student. They will be with this same person in each class for the whole half term period. We still encourage social distancing with your buddy if you are not in a bubble with them. (If students are already in a bubble with somone else we will put you with that person)
f) For aerial classes, you will be training on one piece of equipment with your buddy during each class. Expect to be rotated to another piece of equipment for each subsequent class.
g) Students need to come to class in clothing ready for training as noone is currently allowed to change in the venues.
h) Initially masks will be worn by teachers in classes for ages 12 years +/ teens and adults for the duration of the class. This is in order to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
i) Students must not attend classes if they have any covid-19 symptoms such as a new persistent cough, fever or loss of smell or taste.

NB We will be reviewing the above constantly and if any measure prevents us from doing our job properly and safely we will amend accordingly. We will notify you of any changes that are made.
